How to be Emotionally Intelligent

Emotions are like the driving force behind everything we do in life. So being emotionally intelligent and emotionally independent becomes very important in life if we want to have an amazing life.

Generally, people make decisions based on a temporary feeling they are having in that particular situation. They are not able to see it through their feelings which is a must have quality if you want to make the best decision according to the situation you won’t regret later(when you are calm and thinking straight).


It is one of the key factors when it comes to emotions. More aware you are more you will see things and will be able to handle things better.

Now, self-awareness is the key to improve everything else in life i.e to develop more qualities.

  • Observe how you react to everything(people, animals, and your surroundings).
  • Keep an eye on how you do things.

Do not rush

Do not rush into making decisions based on your feelings alone.

  • Try to see things clearly rather than jumping into a conclusion.

Process Emotions

Processing emotions will decrease the emotional drama happening within us. That means you won’t be preoccupied and will be able to make a better judgment.

  • Face your fears.
  • Do something you don’t like.

Start with a less likable way to set the momentum and then you can go to “don’t like zone” and do that.

This will shift your decision-making parameters from comfort to what works.

Start doing exercise

Doing some physical intense activity can help a lot with emotions and will give a way to let that energy and emotion out and gradually you will become more focused. You can use anything but it has to be intense.
